CDSCO grants approval to manufacture and market Progesterone SR Tablet

Pharma giant Sun Pharma received a nod from the SEC (Subject Expert Committee) under the CDSCO (Central Drug Standard Control Organization) for the manufacturing and marketing of the Progesterone Sustained Release (SR) tablets of 200,300,and 400mg strengths.

Marksans pharma acquires Israeli drugmaker Teva's manufacturing facility in Goa

The Mumbai-based company did not disclose the amount involved in the acquisition and has agreed to retain the site employees with no changes in the terms of employment. The manufacturing unit is spread across 47,597 metres and has approvals from EU, Health Canada, and Japanese Health Authority.

1.5 Lakh antibiotics and thousands alcoholism treatment drug recalled as samples fail test

Chandigarh’s drug control department conducted tests for 10 drug samples out of which 50% failed to pass the test. More than 1.5 Lakh antibiotics were found to have no content of medicine and thousands of alcohol addiction treatment drugs were found to be spurious and substandard.

A preliminary report revealed the presence of multiple faults at the Maiden Pharma’s Sonepat facility. The people from state drug regulatory authority mentioned that details about the results were reported by the investigator to the union health minister on Tuesday.

PharmNXT launches first integrated manufacturing facility in Pune
