Pharma Industry Experts joined PharmaState’s webinar to discuss the dilemma of choosing the right CEO

PharmaState.academy learning and development platform on Sunday (28th November 2021) hosted a brainstorming webinar for pharmaceutical industry professionals, provided valuable information on choosing the right CEO.
The webinar brought together six leaders from the pharma industry. They shared their experiences, illustrated the ocean of opportunities in front of young attendees who have recently joined the pharma industry or willing to make a dent in the corporate world soon.
The session, which was started by Vivek Hattangadi and Dr. Swati Sinha, included contributions from Sales and Marketing professionals to Training Lead. Also, they drew the participation of many attendees.
After a quick introduction of panelists, PharmaState’s CEO spearheaded the conversation with the Case Study in which two candidates with different backgrounds were shown. One of them had worked closely with the Current CEO for many years, and another candidate was a lady designated as VP-Manufacturing, who holds experience in different roles. Based on that, later, the instructor asked many questions. So that it can uncover valuable insights.
Prior to a conversation with panelists, Vivek Hattangadi had emphasized the importance of case study based learning by stating that these days top pharma management b schools have already adopted case study based method of learning and are successful in doing so. So, why not embrace this approach of learning which can turn learning process more interesting.
Among the challenges of choosing the right CEO, the instructor also raised the issues of female gender barriers by asking a question from Farzana Akhtar Popy, Deputy Manager of Nuvista Pharma. She answered it very well. She pointed out it used to be but not seen these days.
Debarghya Bandyopadhyay GM Training and Development spoke about CEO’s team challenges when they together switch to other companies for better career progression. He also mentioned the role of doctors in this.
The webinar session examined the thought process of leaders of the pharma companies to track major issues prevalent in the industry. Additionally, speakers discussed the importance of character, values and experience while choosing a CEO to guard against the unwanted consequences.
